Step into a world of quiet sophistication and storied beauty at the Patrick & Joan Leigh Fermor House, an extraordinary seafront house located in the picturesque village of Kardamyli, in the heart of Mani, southeastern Peloponnese. Widely considered one of the most beautiful houses in Greece, this iconic property was the beloved home of renowned British writer Sir Patrick Leigh Fermor and his wife Joan. In 1996, the couple bequeathed the house to the Benaki Museum, which has carefully restored the property, preserving its original shape, atmosphere and charm. By making it available for rent during the summer months, the Benaki Museum ensures the annual operation of the House as a centre of hospitality for distinguished scholars and as a venue for workshops organised in collaboration with universities from around the world. Surrounded by a lush Mediterranean garden of olive and cypress trees, white oleanders, fragrant shrubs, and wildflowers that gently slope down to the sea, the estate is a true haven. This is more than a place to stay — it is a retreat that embodies the essence of authentic Greek hospitality, cultural depth, and elegance. The house comprises three traditional stone buildings: the main house with three beautifully appointed suites, the traditional house, formerly the writer’s office, and the guest house. Available exclusively as a private villa, the house can accommodate up to ten guests. It offers comprehensive luxury hospitality services, including daily housekeeping, personalized concierge, a private chef, and exclusive access to a swimming pool.
